Pet Training
McMillan Mastiffs is a professional dog training business in Ajax, Ontario, led by trainer Alyx McMillan. The business uses balanced training methods to help dogs overcome obstacles at various stages of life, with an emphasis on building a trusting relationship between owners and their dogs through patience, consistency and confidence. Services include Puppy School (a 16-week program covering the first six months of a puppy's development, from relationship building and behavioural prevention to obedience, confidence and social skills), a monthly Dog School program for new pet owners and adolescent dogs, one-on-one private training sessions held in real-world settings such as dog parks, group classes that build reliable obedience around everyday distractions in downtown settings, parks and on transit, in-home board-and-train programs where dogs are trained and socialized in home and outdoor environments, and behaviour modification for reactivity and aggression. A mandatory one-hour training assessment is required before the first session ($58.75), and clients return a completed training intake form by email. Grooming services are included for dogs boarding four weeks or longer. The business works with large and medium breeds, including Rottweilers and Cane Corsos.
