Voting in Ajax's 2026 municipal and school board elections opens Monday, October 19 at 10 a.m. and runs through Election Day, Monday, October 26 at 8 p.m., the Town of Ajax announced. Ballots are cast by internet or telephone from anywhere — there is no paper-ballot voting in this election — with voting available 24 hours a day until the polls close at 8 p.m. on October 26.
Registered electors should follow the instructions in the Voter Information Letter mailed in early October. Anyone who needs help can visit one of three Voter Assistance Centres: the Audley Recreation Centre Community Hall (1955 Audley Road North), the Ajax Community Centre HMS Community Hall (75 Centennial Road) or the McLean Community Centre Gymnasium (95 Magill Drive). All three are open October 22 and 23 from 4 to 8 p.m., October 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and October 26 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Trained election officers are on hand, and an Election Help Line is available at 365-282-8683 (VOTE).
To vote, you must be a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years old, and an Ajax resident — or an owner or tenant of land in the town, or their spouse — and your name must be on the voters' list. You can check whether you are on the list and apply to amend it online through the Voters' List Portal, in person at Town Hall's Corporate Services Counter during regular business hours (until 8 p.m. on Election Day), or at any Voter Assistance Centre between October 22 and 26.
Full voter information, an interactive ward map, the certified candidate list and key dates are at elections.ajax.ca; the elections team can be reached at 365-282-VOTE (8683) or election@ajax.ca.
